In 1664, during the Battle of Tangier, 500 English soldiers were ambushed by Ahmad al-Khadir, a former Moroccan pirate who had become a warlord.
Only 30 of them managed to escape, the English corpses and Governor Rutherford were mutilated.
Mouad Aboulhana is a Moroccan artist living in Tangier. He looks to Land Art and Abstract compositions for his creations. He experiments with colours and lines associations in painting, illustration and photography.
