It's interesting to me how Kanada's animation quality went from a very rigid, streamlined approach as per Toei's very exacting standards to being much more loose and personalized in BIRTH!
@hinataminoru He has a fang in the reference book art. It's barely noticeable tho.
Chibimon in toei's artwork doesn't have one.
However, Suda wasn't just known for his "manly" style, as you could find him doing characters designs for Toward the Terra (Toei's movie), Yokai Watch, Mach Go Go Go: Restart/Speed Racer X, The Laws of the Universe Part 0 (hey, it was a paid gig)... and even Gundoh Musashi.
@billiamthies Legosi, since Toei's Were Garurumon has to compensate it's lack of ass by tucking it's tail inside it's pants
There's plenty more but I think I'll wrap this thread up with some more Ultraman, Toei's Devilman, Dunbine and Mazinger Z.
Check them out later. Some really cool shit out there
First Anime: Probably Toei's The Little Mermaid (although My Neighbor Totoro is a very close second)
Last Anime: SK8 the Infinity
Best Anime: Millennium Actress
Worst Anime: A boring answer, but Handshakers is so nausea-inducing, I refuse to include a screenshot here https://t.co/ccYzFMLrK2
Recently, my art inspiration comes in two forms, animator friendly lineart with low-high saturated colors. Aka Toei's new line art plus how new AniPoke does their color and lineart
The art of filmmaking peaked with Toei's V-Cinema masterpiece Lady Battle Cop / 女バトルコップ
Drawn in @clipstudiopaint
so precure design leaks are out. i'll practice drawing them, but i won't post anything until the website gets update. that's what i'll go by. 8)
but damn dude: my minimum requirement of SOME MELANIN IN AT LEAST /ONE/ CURE WAS NOT MET. WHERE DO I TALK TO TOEI'S MANAGER?!
Comparing cel photos against Toei's recent movie remasters. The difference in colour correction across the movies is very inconsistent. Movies like the first and eighth are largely pretty accurate, crop aside ofc, while movies 7 and 9 and many others have a strong yellow tint.
Early memories: Toei's animation of the youth of the legendary Ninja "Sarutobi Sasuke" #少年猿飛佐助 - 1959 - was released in the West as "Magic Boy" and his Shinobi roots were erased. @WrongReel

Here's a Commission I did for someone over on Deviant Art of their villain Toshineko done in the style of Toei's 1969 Puss in Boots.
@taterderg Took a while to find the images, but honorable mentions go to Toei's take on Sonic, the art from the Clocktower manga, Yugioh's artstyle, and Guilty Gear's artstyle (especially from the first game).
Baby's first anime... Toei's 1975 adaptation of Little Mermaid! The Sea Witch's design is still killing it.
@UnbannedC Adore
Emiru has to be Toei's stand in for fans. she's so enthusiastic about becoming a precure and I love her dynamic with Lulu. I swear they should have been the heroes of their own series.
Toei's Sailor Moon 25th Anniversary in North America page from License Global magazine.
You know, between Toei's original design for child Vegeta and Toriyama's... I think I'd go with Toei's, purely because the thought of Vegeta balding in his 20s is funny.
