@emilyanndavison A2 Getting the right illustrator for the text is super crucial. It took a LONG time to find @r1k1n & @thecreativefox Totally worth it. They are a perfect match for the scripts. Without a shadow of a doubt. #ukpbchat #pbfest
@emilyanndavison A1 for the page where Mabel first falls into books, I knew that I’d love that to be one where you have to tilt the book to convey the movement. @thecreativefox captured it brilliantly #ukpbchat #PBFest 2/2

CROCODILES NEED KISSES TOO is illustrated by Penelope Dullaghan and published by Viking/Penguin Random House, April 2020. Although it is my latest book to be published, it was written in 2005 when my eldest was a baby. #ukpbchat
I love a character with attitude. Anyone that gives you as a reader the opportunity to really go for it when reading. The Cat in the Oi Frog series is a winner for me!
#ukpbchat
@ukpbchat @Benji_Davies And then for good measure I’m chucking in Pokko from Pokko and the Drum by @mattforsythe, because I don’t know if I ever go a #ukpbchat without bringing this book up!
@ukpbchat @Benji_Davies I remembered how amazing Noi’s grandma is in Grandma Bird! Seaweed munching, island living and zen practising, what an amazing woman!

@FatherReading A3) It all depends on the book, but I love it when the illustrations tell a different story to the text. The Terribly Friendly Fox by @Susannah_Lloyd and @esillustration and Life on Mars by Jon Agee are to of my recent favourites that do this! #ukpbchat
@FatherReading @StevenLenton So many amazing illustrators already mentioned this evening, so I won’t repeat. Can I mention @SarahMassini. A truly amazing illustrator! #ukpbchat a1] @ukpbchat
A1) My second shout-out goes to the beautiful work of @catherinerayner Every image is a beautiful work of art!

A2) @MoragHood is brilliant with random animals too! Puffins and Bats with attitude!

And now to find out what the future holds for you Mini @Bonzetta1 Q4) #ukpbchat
