Ann has chosen another favourite Joseph Wolf this is her favourite depicting last week she chose her favourite painting of birds. Wolf used the famous ZSL elephants & Alice as models for these African at a water hole.

As the natural world is the theme of we are highlighting a few art works depicting some rare species. ZSL is taking action to conserve these (and other) animals - pangolin, Chinese giant salamander, greater one-horned rhino.

so explored Bedford Park. Holmwood in Bedford Park was the home of Richard Bowdler Sharpe from 1879. He was ZSL in 1867 & an ornithologist. Many of his 10 daughters worked as colourists for beautiful books about & Emily Mary was an entomologist.

Illustration of Storm, a black-and-white ruffed lemur from ZSL. These lemurs considered to be the largest pollinators, as they feed, pollen sticks to the ruffs of fur around their faces and gets transported from tree to tree. Also they are sadly critically endangered!

To celebrate we have some blackbirds from John Gould's 'Birds of Great Britain' vol. 2! ZSL Librarian, Ann, celebrated this morning with Blackbirds and robins started first at 4.40am with a song thrush and many wrens soon joining in.

ZSL have sent 4 northern bald ibis to Spain ready to be released

バイク屋の帰りに健康のため1時間歩いたのに、途中でかつ丼を食い、更に数分後マックでポテトのLを食ってしまったのだ。

to John Gould who was born in 1804. An eminent ornithologist, who worked here at ZSL as Curator of Birds. Gould described the birds Darwin brought back from his expedition aboard HMS Beagle, so we decided to share the famous 'Darwin's finches'!
