The Bombardment of Algiers by George Hyde Chamber. In 1816 Sir Edward Pellew, then an admiral, was sent in command of an Anglo-Dutch fleet to “persuade” the Dey of Algiers to stop slave trading. It would be Pellew’s final battle.

I have a long train ride to see the Algiers-trip folks this afternoon so I’ll be watching the last two episodes of the Baby Yoda Variety Show on the way. And will probably get so engrossed I miss my transfer and stop and end up in Coney Island or Newfoundland probably.
