Pokemon Emerald NUZLOCKE

The run went well till Norman and his Slaking. Norman's Slaking without protect strats was very scary and I lost Breloom. From here on out the run was pretty hard and it was just surviving till Wallace (lost Swampert to Camerupt in the process :/

Breloom is so fucking weird.
Why did they take a mushroom and have it evolve into a dinosaur with stretchy arms with hooves on the ends that PUNCHES??
What is the reasoning?? Why make it a fighting type???
