toedscruel is such an awesome pokemon its design is perfect and a good reference to convergent evolution its ability maybe be hard to get around but it can still be useful and it has a useful moveset as well as good speed. somehow a 9/10 my favorite grass type this generation.

@topazlight Yeah for my money stuff like Toedscruel's and Baxcalibur's art feels a lot more credible for the tracing accusations.
I don't care if it is, it just bugs me because the ultimate result either way is its art looks way flatter and more boring compared to previous key arts
what ppl have pointed out is the way toedscruel's eye here is like 99% covered and it's crazy. Like just don't have the eye at that point.

Like, some of the official artwork definitely feels below the standard. Toedscruel especially has been bugging us. Like, it's drawn TOO perfectly to the point where it feels lacking in personality, especially when compared to Tentacruel's art.
@DarknWindie what about Toedscruel then, who would consciously decide to draw it at an angle where the eye is almost but not completely covered? like either show more of the eye or don't show it at all jeez
