It’s good to see posts dedicated to fish as individual sentient beings - they’re regularly left out of animal rights advocacy.

Admittedly I’m guilty of missing fish out of convos I’ve had (& work I’ve made) about bycatch and the ocean.

Fish feel pain and deserve our respect! 🌊

Bycatch (accidental capture while fishing which often kills them) is the biggest threat! Finning, & recreational fishing also contribute!

The demersal, bottom-dwelling, nocturnal shark can grow up to 8 feet long. They camouflage to catch their prey. They're highly susceptible to bycatch in demersal trawls, bottom-set longlines, gill nets & dredges
