To create space in the bone marrow for the healthy cells, the sickle cell patient is placed on chemotherapy to eliminate the unhealthy cells.

Then, receives healthy bone marrow cells through the vein donated by a donor.

So, updating 🤗 after having 4cm tumour removed & sigmoid colectomy.They found cancer was in 2 of lymph nodes by tumour.
So was in 2 of 22 lymph’s they removed from bowel area. So they feel that they have ‘caught it’ with a mop up chemotherapy planned. Feeling grateful 🤗✨🌱🕸

Hey guys, just wanted to update on the current situation!
I got a test results the other day that my cancer is slowly coming back so I have to start my chemotherapy again.
Fortunately things aren’t too critical or serious as for now!
Maybe one day I’ll actually be cancer free 🧡
