I propose the Cycad Eco Tree! These trees were abundant during the age of the dinosaurs--symbols of persistence and change! Plus, who doesn't love dinosaurs!?
At 36 I've begun working @hastings_museum. In this display is Williamsonia carruthersii, a cycad found at Fairlight by Philip J Rufford who coincidently retired to Hastings at age 36. There's also his sketch of the type specimen he sent to @NHM_London next to it. #FossilFriday
Reconstructing this roughly 140 million year old fossil of Otozamites douglasii, from the extinct group of cycad-like Bennettitales. #paleoart #paleobotany
Williamsonia! Aka the quintessential member of the Bennettitales, a group of cycad-like seed plants. I did this pretty quickly, so the lighting and detail could be a bit better. #paleoart #paleontology #botany #botanicalillustration #paleobotany
Archaeoceratops dinosaur going to eat a cycad. Enjoy ;) https://t.co/xtgr6XnSG3
