How did I forget THIS influence!
(Sidenote: need to rebuy the dinotopia books...)
After #JurassicWorldDominion wraps up the franchise (for now ) can our next dinosaur movie franchise be a reimagining of Dinotopia? Anyone remember this beautifully illustrated James Gurney book series?
(at some point there was a cheap mini series made but let's forget that lol)
In Dinotopia, dinosaurs communicate with undulating pitches, similar to whale and elephant song. The scene is backlit by two sources, moon and lantern, the lantern hidden. Signed copies: https://t.co/dvbgQocWU5

@__ThoughtPolice Also, I'm surprised there hasn't been an official Dinotopia RPG, seems like that would be a no brainer given the world building and killer art that was already like a 3.x manual
Thinking about really wordy comics and the differences between them and heavily illustrated stories. I just think of how Mouse Guard and Dinotopia really make beautifully well balanced stories with art and words. Thoughts?
They both seem to have a scorpion body plan and I'm pretty sure I'm not imagining it because I remember from having read The Ultimate Lego Book about 500 times that Dinotopia: The World Beneath was an inspiration for Rock Raiders and they specifically call out the scorpion mech
After Seeing The Quetzocoatlus Now I Want Hollywood To Take Another Crack At A Dinotopia Live Action Film.

bix is from @GurneyJourney's dinotopia!
Had a meeting with an admissions counselor so I whipped up an attempt at concept art-adjacent work.
The idea was vaguely middle-east dinotopia.
