lots of talk about it being ugly and impractical on the tl lately so I thought I'd share that i always thought the black mask outfit and helmet are a visual reference to the berserker armor (from berserk)
The worldbuilder in me can't help but contextualize 'em (even as I edit most into legit swords or maces). I imagine the intent is a constable's weapon, most of the time its the bonk, but the blade's there for trouble. IRL impractical, but look who's holding them.
