Despite being the same species as Lavasioth, the Lavasioth Subspecies has different materials that can be used to craft powerful equipment. Her fins are as sharp as blades, while her teeth are capable of piercing through the toughest of ore as well as a flying wyvern's shell.

The Lavasioth Subspecies is a female Lavasioth. Like her mate, she's covered in hardened magma, but firestones also adorn her shell. From those minerals being on her body, her shell stays heated, even when weapons that use either the water or ice element are used against her.

I'll be going from 1.5 to ZZ (I'm skipping the normal Hypnocatrice and Lavasioth since they are considered 2nd Gen monsters in the Main Series, and I plan on talking about them at a later date ). I'll do three monsters each week since there are more of them (Mon, Wed, and Fri).

From my experience in Freedom Unite, Lavasioth comes close. Same with Barioth for 3U aside from the flagship. I really do love how Barioth was revamped though in Iceborne, and how the fight rewards you as you break parts. https://t.co/RyzrSrH146

A young Lavasioth has a round body while its fins and other parts are short and thick. While young, a Lavasioth can't tolerate extreme temperatures, so they need those specialized parts to resist heat as they further grow.

Jyuratodus shares many similarities with Lavasioth, and it's considered likely that it might've eventually evolved into Lavasioth. Despite the possibility, it's unclear whether it originates from the Old World or New World. So far, no Jyuratodus have been found in the Old World.

I know people will bring up Hypnocatrice and Lavasioth, but those two were designed by both the Main Team and Frontier Team, which is the reason why those two appear outside of Frontier. Since the Main Team played a part in their creation, those two also belong to that team.

The sixth Exotic Species to be introduced in Monster Hunter Frontier was Nargacuga. Many years after Monster Hunter Freedom Unite brought over Hypnocatrice and Lavasioth, Frontier brings over Nargacuga from the Main Series in G10.

Monster Hunter Frontier G9 introduced two new HC Monsters: HC Silver Hypnocatrice and HC Lavasioth Subspecies.

As an old avid player of Frontier, I'll be doodling every season's Flagship "daily" as it's coming to an end this Winter.

MHF Season 1.0: Teostra Flagship
Lavasioth, Hypnoc and the Great Forest's first introduction which got implemented into MHFU a year later!
