Trying this GorgeousMushroom/Strangestone style of comic/pinup style. I like how it incorporates a short story narrative where just 1 picture wouldnt be enough.
Will definitely do more of these. Also tried to mimic Project Moon bg style.

But just as Ji and Shu lament Yan's dependence on the Sui, it was never proven that they could stand on their own. The Collapsals only stopped because of Nian. Grain Buds only survived because of discount Ifrit.

They're good people, but only serve as narrative fodder.

This is very unique romance show, the kind I'd recommend watching without knowing anything about it. I really like the narrative tools it uses, the little hints, the sense of continuity all in service to the message it's trying to send. Very strong and short show.

@3Sentry @Kaito_KaiNi At the same time, it's reluctant to delve significantly into the western theater of war, which is something I appreciated AL for.

I'm quite disappointed they steered away from their historically driven narratives as some of their designs for them aren't half bad

@VincentBecherer @DerrickMalikJo It's REALLY something I struggle with being a concept artist for so long. I love ~AMV style vibe shots~ but that's not the point of a board. It's to tell a story with shots that connect narratively.

So my weakness is narrative so I study wtf a shot says narratively a lot.

@VincentBecherer @DerrickMalikJo I do original work and when I run into walls I do studies to help me figure out how to dismantle them and climb them better.

Also being married to a boarder whose been doing it for 10 yrs helps to talk too. He's always grilling me what is the narrative point of a shot.
