Super Mario Odyssey has a great art style and many of the older enemies were partially redesigned in a similar fashion to Yoshi's Island, NSMB, or Super Mario Galaxy. I really hope they keep using these enemy/character designs in spinoffs like Mario Kart or Paper Mario.
Just some doodles of NSMB DS enemies, and the maybe true or not finger boy
#Mario
got 2012, so h
and yes, I really liked nsmb 2, it's fun to me https://t.co/WYbWjzIFUF
So I go from drawing a thicc koopa to a middle aged toad with long hair and addictions! Here's Smoker Toad aka that one Blue Toad from the NSMB series, he's like one of my favorite OCs
Smoker Toad! He’s the famous Bucken-Berry from NSMB who had enough of the false, safe life in the Mushroom Kingdom and decided to run off into Dark Land, where he gained clarity, addictions, and a pessimistic life. He becomes less of an asshole when he meets a very special boy.
@Destructo_Dan Lost World's art direction honestly ain't that good. On a technical level, it's impressive with it's high polycount, but when you look at it for what it is - It's just flat and bland. It's like the NSMB art style the Mario series inherited for most of the early 2010's.
Thought I'd say this one last time: I prefer 64/TTYD's story book style, if they remake those games in the new style, I they just need to do this: Remove thick white outlines, make animations more fluid, and use old enemy style (left) instead of the NSMB design (right)
Just a little nitpick, but I don't understand why most people call the Spiny Shell in Mario Kart, "Blue Shells" Yes the shell is blue, but it clearly has spikes over it.
Blue Shell is actually a power-up from NSMB and not to be confused with the MK item.
Think about it, if it’s 3 then it’s a sequel to the handheld game but if it’s Switch then it’s a sequel to the home console games. So might’ve well port the WiiU one for the sake of not confusing NSMB fans. It makes sense
@NintendoAmerica My Favorite Mario Memory Was Getting A DS With NSMB, I Played The Crap Outta That Game
@DreaminErryDay I really love when they do 2D illustrations of Mario in the modern day. Really makes me wish we could get a 2D Mario platformer that carries over that style with hand drawn sprites like Wario Land: Shake It!! I'm so sick of them using the NSMB look.
For as bland as the NSMB games can be sometimes, I gotta say I adore the power-up costumes. They're so damn charming and I wish I could see them in more games.
@Radshyguy Like, I would agree if they were reffering to the 3D art style used since Lost World, That stuff sucks.
NSMB-looking ass.
@Destructo_Dan Honestly one of my biggest worries for this movie is how generic the plot or locations could be. I don’t wanna see NSMB on the big screen. I want adventure/story on par with Superstar Saga or the first three Paper Mario’s.
