Collection A - New Gold Enemies
We've made it to NSMB2 – coins and riches galore! Jumping through a Gold Ring causes all nearby enemies to turn shiny and reward you with coins for defeating them. Some even throw them at you or leave behind a trail. Grab as many as you can!

Spiders represent scuttlebug as they appear in NSMB2. Cave Spiders are Tarantox the boss from Galaxy, and silver fish are wiggler. Tarantox feels like a weird pull, but I'll give all three of these 👍👍👍
@ariel_1046cc tá, então o do NSMB seria a criança, a Wiggler a adolescente e a Flutter a adulta. Fata só versões elhas então, quer dizer, a Durmite e a Wisdurm contam como wiggler e flutter femininas certo?
The frustration with NSMB U’s Boost Mode Challenges. This actually happened in real life years ago. Thankfully, they removed the BM challenges in the Switch version. But still…hoo boy…so many swears from her that day. 🤣

With NSMB, they stuck with the princess rescue plot to a T.
Sure, there's SOME nuances. Wii has Peach kidnapped on her Birthday! U has Mario, Luigi, Bucken-Berry and Ala-Gold thrown somewhere else! 2 has Peach kidnapped because... Mario and Luigi were distracted by coins.
@Missingno123311 As for streamlining designs, I can't really think of any major changes. Pretty much all enemy designs were finalized in the GameCube era, with a select few being finished in SM64DS/NSMB.
The 2 I can think of that were redesigned in the Safe era are Rocky Wrench & Scuttlebug
taod but evil!! ooo!!!! (notable mentions: mario mario, luigi mario & idk that blue toad mfer from the nsmb games)
@flowerydee64 I love characters who are these weird unknown made up species, but Ballyhoo kinda looks like a Blockhopper from NSMB.
Super Mario Odyssey has a great art style and many of the older enemies were partially redesigned in a similar fashion to Yoshi's Island, NSMB, or Super Mario Galaxy. I really hope they keep using these enemy/character designs in spinoffs like Mario Kart or Paper Mario.
Just some doodles of NSMB DS enemies, and the maybe true or not finger boy
