Some card illustrations I did for Crossfire Legion. Used assets from 3D team, rescaled proportions to be more realistic and posed in maya, lit and composed them in Marmoset, then photobashed and painted them up in photoshop.

I do both photobashing and hand painted textures. Garchomp and T. rex are 100% hand painted, Tyrantrum and Godzilla are photobashed. I like having the flexibility to use both skillsets to fit the look and vibe of each project.

I’m doing the same. All my diamond horns are photobashed textures and then painted over! It’s a super common tool used to make our lives easier.

I just want to share this bit of insight because I know a lot of folks feel very discouraged by these kind of paintings.

Turbulent water - turbulent brain.
While much of these textures could be photobashed - and probably will be, it is good for when photos need better immersion or there is no good photo.
