a good comparison of the hair shrinkage (and also some of the evolution of wingu's design) is looking at the refs from mid-2018 to mid-2020

the 2018 ref just... REALLY looks like a giant mass of fluff that doesnt look natural at all, but the 2020 ref looks more like hair!
