Struwwelpeter de Heinirch Hoffman (1845), después de Pinocho es quizás uno de los primeros infant terribles de la literatura infantil.
@reviewwales @Rebecca52731232 The weakest will be the strongest ...
I like the hare in "Struwwelpeter" (German children book, 1845) for stealing the gun and shooting the hunter.
Struwwelpeter, the terrifying book of cautionary tales for children, what happens if you suck your thumb, or refuse to eat your dinner, it's all here in gory detail to terrify and delight #FolkloreThursday
today i learned that Scissorman, the infamous villain from Clock Tower (SNES), is taken directly from Der Struwwelpeter, an 1845 German children's book by Heinrich Hoffmann
Hoffmann's version, literally called The Scissor-Man, would snip the thumbs of children who sucked on them

I vividly remember my Nan reading me these as a child and being scared of the guy with the massive scissors was going to leap out at me one night.

She lit a match, it was so nice!” 🔥

@OhKLind @mollykh Didn’t like Struwwelpeter as a kid. Read by mum, often, ?so I didn’t grow up a sloven. But I can still recite The Story of Little Suck-A-Thumb from memory. Struwwelhitler parody pub’d UK Daily Sketch newspaper to raise funds for clothes, bedding, boots & food for air raid victims
Still waiting for the movie-adaption of the most terrifying books I've ever read in my life! #StephenKing is a joke, when You've got the #tale "Der #Struwwelpeter " as a kid. Maybe the book is wellknown international, here's a quick #concept for the definitely #horror -experience
