#MythologyMonday Hekate is goddess of the crossroads. Hekate means ‘worker from afar-’ as in spellwork. Only she & Hermes could visit the Underworld at will, but her story goes back way before the Greeks, to Anatolia and the Sumerians who knew her as Innana, Queen of The Heavens
Uttu, the Mesopotamian goddess of weaving, taught mortal women to weave, ushering in a new era in which humans less often froze to death or burned in the sun. Her name means woven in Sumerian & resembles the Akkadian word for spider, ettūtu. #MythologyMonday

2000 BCE is here! A Sumerian priestess-in-training and her friend revolutionize the Bronze Age. Read it here:

@DamiDraws_vt I literally only have white haired ocs at this point lol
This is my new guy. His name is Ziz. He's a 3000 year old ancient vampire who has lived during the fall of Sumerian civilization.
I'm braindead when it comes to naming oc lol
Ziz in sumerian literally means moth and it also mean a biblical beast lol

Ereshkigal
In Mesopotamian mythology, Ereshkigal (𒀭𒊩𒌆𒆠𒃲 https://t.co/WZifvNGmWH, lit. "Queen of the Great Earth")[1][2] was the goddess of Kur, the land of the dead or underworld in Sumerian mythology.
Happy Sumeru release!👹
We hope everyone's enjoying it so far~! here's our sumerian Itto from our standee by @mors_gn
Another OC, idk what to name her but she’s based on the Sumerian god Nanna

They say practice makes perfect, so as you sip that delicious craft beer in the sun, you can thank the 5000 years of practice that have made it so good. Beer was first made by the Sumerians of ancient Mesopotamia, they even had a goddess devoted to it!
#internationalbeerday
Remember him? I just did. So technically an oc? I call him "Sumo". He's my Sumerian AU Broly Variant I don't draw enough. Deep and lovely thanks to @HYDEOVER9000 and @CursedR2 for drawing him too, I love them SO much! 🥹💕
@theresalkrupp I'd say Ben excels at empathy and fighting his own demons. This is a very troubled kid, carrying heavy burdens as an orphan and a chosen one by the ancient Sumerian gods, but he manages to push through it.
Sumerians must have looked on in shock & confusion some 6000 years ago when God created heaven & Earth. #atheist
@scarymaaze HEEHEE HIII i have so many but I’ll show my two current faves :] the first one is inanna, named after the sumerian goddess! She’s half afro iranian and half afro saudi! And she’s a witch :] The second one is Israa who’s amazigh (Kabyle!) and she’s a carpenter !!!!
