Psyche Inspired intern & @VCU student, Levi Keatts, created this piece, "Light-curves." 🤩 Levi says: "This piece was inspired by a paper which spoke about how they used the 'inversion of light-curves' to develop a topographical map of (16) Psyche." More: https://t.co/8n8ZeWQmbQ
'Holywell Park' Thomas Gainsborough. Although Gainsborough lived in Ipswich for seven years, this rare early topographical work of the artificial ponds created to supply water to Thomas Cobbold's brewery, is his only known depiction of the town.
Photo of a three-dimensional topographical map of Italy. I remember these from childhood holidays in Italy. They were quite common at highway gas stations if I remember correctly? Maybe just a single gas station and my memory is faulty?Source: https://t.co/wJqmrpOFJV

Our Collection Curator recently travelled to India to rediscover this view, first captured by artist James Baillie Fraser in 1815. Fraser’s topographical prints, alongside others, are currently on display in our picture gallery.

The castle of Muiden is located near Amsterdam and probably dates from the 14th century. Even today it looks like in the painting "The Castle of Muiden in Winter" in 1658 by Dutch artist Jan Beerstraaten, who specializes in topographical painting.
