🎨 #MikeWieringo, American #comicbook artist, was #BOTD 24 June 1963. #Art #Illustration
@arthurstacy My pick for the pod is one of my favorites, but the one about the New Fantastic Four (one of the last comics drawn by Mike Wieringo) has a special place
Mike Wieringo's amazing connecting covers from right before his actual run as interior penciller started.
I love all of these. Marvel should have put out a big long door poster of them, like the one they did of Joe Jusko's Mary Jane pinup in the 90s.
volume 3 time
(also, I guess Pacheco designed/drew the uniforms with the 3Dish 4 symbol before Wieringo, who I credited them to when breaking down Dauterman's cover... but the haircut with the uniform on that cover was definitely 'Ringo)
"Wonder Woman" by Mike Wieringo
and Richard Case with Tom McCraw
from Wonder Woman Gallery#1 (1996).
15 - The way the chest emblem pops here makes me think this one is inspired by the way Mike Wieringo drew the classic suit, which other artists would do at the time as well.
@nauga54 Cliché answer, but Lee, Kirby, and Byrne. The usual suspects. I also enjoyed the Wait/Wieringo run.
@Kerongrantart Mine are Jack Kirby, Will Eisner, Alex Ross, Mike Wieringo.
What’s funny about that El Muerto image going around from 2006 is that it’s actually the solicitation cover, the final cover has Spider-Man in the Iron-Spider suit that he’s wearing in the issue.
Artist is Mike Wieringo btw
To save everyone the search..
El Muerto was a character created by Peter David and first depicted by both the late great Mike Wieringo on the cover and Roger Cruz on pencils
To my knowledge he only ever appeared in this one story in 2006 during the Iron Spider days
Ooh, a Mike Wieringo illustration I have never seen! Captain America and Prime from the strangly titled Battlezones: Dream Tream pinup book.
Check it out @mattwieringo
great covers too, including one by Mike Wieringo which is a never-miss with me of course
It’s missing Mike Wieringo hours. Dude was my favorite Spider-Man artist when I was younger
Este noviembre, #DC lanzará por primera vez un ómnibus de la etapa de Mark Waid (con Greg LaRocque, Gerard Jones, Mike Wieringo, etc.).
De momento, no hay fecha para el segundo
Who are your top 4 Spider-Man artists?
Only 4? Shit. Ok:
- 90’s Bagley
- Madureira
- Wieringo
- Skroce https://t.co/ncTNKObFEs
@XMen90sCovers Not a fan of that era. Spidey titles had a good thing going before this reboot happened. @JMDeMatteis Spectacular with Luke Ross, and the classic team of Todd Dezago with the late Mike Wieringo. Defalco 2nd run with Steve Skroce art.

Michael Turner and Mike Wieringo both passed away around the same time.
Imagine if we had 15 more years of art from these legends.
