特に私が好きなのは、1952年の『フロントライン・コンバット』誌の硫黄島特集号に掲載された「洞穴」。
他社の戦記物アメコミが「戦場の英雄」を描くのに終始していた時代に、「日本兵の視点から見た硫黄島」のエピソードを載せてしまうというのが凄い。
