Dilophosaurus. Using dinosaurs for sprint names at work and this is the current one. #drawing #inkdrawing #markerdrawing #copicmarkers #illustration #dinosaurdrawing #dilophosaurus
Thank you from the bottom of my heart, season four of CAMP CRETACEOUS, for doing what no JURASSIC PARK sequel ever did and bringing back the Dilophosaurus.
Young me wearing my Dilophosaurus mask! I don’t make it look nearly as good as a real Dilophosaurus though 😂
The study showed that Dilophosaurus’ skull was more robust, had more expanded crests and probably capable of delivering a powerful bite, much to the appeal of biomechanics enthusiasts like myself. Fantastic artwork by @BrianEngh_Art to illustrate the ferocity of Dilophosaurus.
From my “Colossal Book of Dinosaurs” as a kid. Dilophosaurus wasn’t well-represented at the time. (Before Jurassic Park) so seeing this bizarre meat-eater eat a marine animal blew my mind. Partially inspired my Dryptosaurus scavenging a Mosasaur painting. https://t.co/Anv9gJ69hb
@IzzzyzzzArt Unlike many depictions, Dilophosaurus crests aren’t just bony bumps on top of its head, but extensions of the antorbital fenestra, and could’ve grown larger than fossil evidence suggests because of the possibility of unfossilized keratin. This is because Dilophosaurus is awesome.
@archaeoraptor Cryolophosaurus was the first theropod found in Antarctica and was almost called Elvisaurus because of its pompadour shaped crest. They also have a hard time classifying this fella! It was thought to be related to Dilophosaurus but its now found to be unrelated
These were the classic depictions of the Basilisk, or the Cockatrice as it's sometimes called that inspired me. The double crest on the black and white version is what made me think of Dilophosaurus.

Paint Study of Dilophosaurus based on 3D models from @JoannaKobierska
POV: you've been stuck in a tree waiting for this horse-sized goose thing to leave for about two hours. You may be in trouble.
[Made with no reference aside from the Ark dilo, please take it with a grain of salt anatomy-wise]

Forgot how fun it was to sketch with ballpoint pens! Here we have an Albertosaurus (maybe?) and The Isle's Dilophosaurus (my beloved). #TheIsle #SurviveTheIsle
I think Dilophosaurus is neat. This one's just a funny little SD fella, since I can't trust myself with accurate dino anatomy just yet lol

I don't know how we can show this more clearly w/o discovering a perfect uncrushed specimen: the crest of Dilophosaurus is formed by a dorsal expansion of the sinus that forms the antorbital fenestra (bigol snout window). There is NO evidence of separation between crest & fossa.
