Day 10 of 's - Jun the Swan from Gatchaman. This was a tougher one because I have effectively ZERO knowledge of the series. I can -kinda- recognize some of the designs and that's it.

if i had known i'd get so many offers i wouldve included more info!! the drake i'm talkin about is Drake Redcrest, from chibi robo, who is a toy superhero based on 70s anime heroes like Gatchaman.... so if you got some bold, bright art fitting for an action hero... hit me up lol

Here’s one of Yoshitaka Amano’s original designs for Gatchaman- Iconic and a massive inspiration for me.

I seriously don't doubt Gatchaman Crowds is a good show but why the need to shit on the original like this as if the new one "COMPLETELY SURPASSED IT Making its existence not needed anymore"?

Bahahaha perfect! A terrible part of me wants to draw Bizarro Gatchaman where everything is super extra dumb, but most especially Dr. Nambu. I still haven't forgiven him for putting poor Joe in a centrifuge to remove SHRAPNEL from his BRAIN.

Anybody remember the 80s manga cartoon Battle of the Planets aka Gatchaman? Here’s the villain, Zoltar

I’ve mentioned Once Upon a Time… being an early sci-fi influence on me—another one was BATTLE OF THE PLANETS (1978).

It was sort of a neutered version of Gatchaman. The villain, Zoltar, was sinister—but even scarier was The Spirit, with whom he sometimes conferred. Nightmares.

Don't remember how old we were but it was definitely a VHS tape of the 1990s Gatchaman OVA https://t.co/9ofb11wV3p
