It was my very first time doing live painting show! What a blast. A very limited time and tools I could use for this show.
Insane set list, we had fun that night. Crowd were insane, it was hard to breathe

backlog job done. some giantess. this was 100 bucks for those gauging pricing. 75 for the 1 character and another 25 for a second in the pic. background was simple enough to throw together so no charge

The style is a bit of a departure, but I do quite like how the monochrome backgrounds came out. I'm looking forward to touhoufest again next year, pls lemme in..

also, of course you don't NEED a fleshed out background to have good character illustrations. some of the principles of basic graphic design and backgrounds coincide! a lot of my ZZZ work relies on simple yet non-intrusive bg elements that aren't structural

if you notice: stuff like this doesn't even have the ground visible, so you don't ever need to pay attention to the full structure of the buildings/horizon. the importance here is that i'm placing the subjects optimally in front of the structures/sky/clouds in an aesthetic way
