now that i've actually bothered to watch Gunbuster these semi-viral images from Cybernetic Hi-School 3 are less funny/random because this character is just a soviet pilot in universe
I was gonna wait to post this later but screw it, I spent some time recently designing my own Super Robot from the ground up with inspiration largely coming from Getter Robo and Gunbuster.

Hmm. So yeah I presume you mean the way the Gunbuster launches in episode 4. Technically speaking yes the Queen Mansa and Gunbuster launch by an elevator at the top of their ships respectively. But I have some feeling that maybe a well known Giant Robot show/manga did it before. https://t.co/dWoNAbve5w

@Dnbc32 @burnout_matt @dubbmobile @icjman @MopGarden My Top 4 of all time- Macross as a franchise, Robotech because it introduced me to anime, and I’m counting Gunbuster as a series even though it’s an OAV because those vhs tapes were ‘spensive!
@animeherald @raulgom86066610 Awesome topic ... let’s not forgot Voltes V ... Baldios ... and if you’re gonna do Macross, Miliya is the badass Mech Pilot... And you must drop everything to talk about Gunbuster ...

Okay, you asked for 'em, you got'em 🥳
Fans will recognise these as the bunnygirl outfit Nina wears during the "direct to viewer" segments at the end of each chapter (a homage to Gunbuster/Nadesico).

probably a stupid question, but given that both things were animated by Gainax and the Buster Machines in Diebuster just pop into being out of nowhere, do you think that means FLCL's N.O. channels exist in Gunbuster continuity
Fans will know the bunny from the game's "direct-to-viewer" segments at end of each chapter (a homage to Gunbuster & Nadesico) in which Nina, Dylan and Anya don comical outfits & break down some interesting trivia about each story.
Toshiyuki Kubooka was one of three character designers who worked on #GiantRobo. His softer, more rounded style lends the show a certain warmth. He's contributed to a variety of projects, such as #Gunbuster and the Lunar and #Idolmaster series.
