some elements:
- similar technological evolution
- similar source of power of the same technology (DieBuster and Gurren)
- same purpose of the main enemy (i.e. a Great Filter)
- consistent scaling in power (gigantic ships > black holes > reality bending)
@4kshatra
So, another silly but plausible theory of mine: GunBuster and DieBuster are set in the same universe (duh! DieBuster = GunBuster 2), but so are Gurren Lagann and FLCL.

Atmosk, Nono, and Simone all got that spiral power shit going on.
I need to rewatch Diebuster and TTGL again
@Cosmikaizer The OST of Escafown is poetic, enchanting and dramatic. Gunbuster’s OST is epic, inspiring and heroic. Diebuster’s OST is just like Gunbuster’s but x2. And Gundam Unicorn is a mixture of action and adventure. If I have to keep one, it would be Gunbuster for the nostalgia.
looking up some things and i.... totally forgot lal'c and nono diebuster had such a height difference...........
@Cosmikaizer wassap wassap
uhh in terms of inspirations, Eichii Shizumu's approach to grit, and Shigeto Koyama in terms of trying to make strong outlines and designs that have character.
Favourite mecha shows's are Getter Armageddon and Gunbuster/Diebuster
Next Mecha Girl of the day is Nono from Top o Nerae! 2: Diebuster!
