im also guessing that you'll need to use shadows more to take the place of lineart

because of that, im guessing pastel colors won't look good without some kind of lineart. which i why i had trouble with this drawing

Definitely like your lineart. Your art pieces that are just that still have a lot of depth. You nail shit pretty nicely in a manga-esque way. I think, believe it or not, I feel like your weakness is colors. Not necessarily the colors you pick, but how you shade them.

1. base color!
apply the base color in a layer placed under ur lineart. many use the fill color tool, but I don't, so it wont leave empty spaces where the lineart is. that helps me in case i feel like changing smth i drew initialy.
