Inspired by Cicely Mary Baker's Flower Fairies and Brian Froud's various faeries and goblins I created a dragonfly faerie. I wanted to make something less traditional but still recognizable as a faerie.

Naturally, I will be imagining all fairies in the manner of Brain Froud's today...

The sun used to live among the San of the Kalahari as a man, unusual only in that when he lifted his arms bright light escaped his armpits. Eventually he was flung into the sky to drive out the prior darkness of the world.

Maybe when I was 4 or 5? I don't remember much. But I've always been a big fan of Brian Froud's artwork and I think he did a lot of the concepts for it ☺️

DAW book covers Don't Bite The Sun, by Tanith Lee (1976). Brian Froud's artwork is spot-on for this book.

Bwbach, a Welsh domestic hobgoblin, is a good friend to have in your corner. He'll do household chores in exchange for bowls of cream. Unless you're a member of the clergy--then you're at the mercy of his pranks.

Mother Aughra from the stream last night! I think she deserves her own tweet, no? Felt so natural to explore Froud's shapes, it actually surprised me a little

Happy May Day. It's a strange, strange time for us all...but the earth is greening, the seasons are turning, and I'm still grateful for each budding leaf, each blossoming flower, and each new day unfolding. Up the May! https://t.co/eq3pYcYmRe (Art by Brian Froud)

Managed to get another one done. At this point I was letting Siri choose which one to do and it picked ‘ suggestion of “any Skeksis” from and I LOVE Brian Froud’s work. Couldn’t decide if I liked it with or without color, so you decide.
