Although Red Khezu is called a subspecies, it's theorized it might not actually be one. It's possible that Red Khezu could very well be a "normal" Khezu, while the white ones commonly encountered in caves by hunters are albino due to genetic defects from the monster's lifestyle.

Like Khezu, Red Khezu uses lightning to kill its prey but its electrical organs have further developed, allowing it to generate stronger shocks compared to its brethren.

The muscles in a Khezu's neck will weaken as it reaches old age, causing the individual to hang its head down. The Khezu won't be able to eat anything if that happens, leading to its eventual death.

With Monster Hunter Stories 2 announced, I thought itd be nice to do a little throwback to my MHS1 Rider, Rose 💖
This artwork took me so long bc of her armor back then ahahhh, but I still love her to no end, her main Monstie was a Red Khezu named Tomato 🤣
