Got some more work done on Callisto's hair in between dealing with a loss. Hair technique is something I learned from studying the Granblue models... shading consists of edited normals (need some smoothing) and a ramped soft-edged texture which allows you to edit the "depth".
Just smoothing out some transitions in this image, and changing the face structure a bit.
If anyone was curious about my colored pencil process
I start by coloring really lightly to map out the colors, then add layers of the same colors on top to solidify them (leaving areas that I want highlights light), and then do most of the blending and smoothing at the end
i did the sailor moon redraw but as an experiment. im smoothing her out now
Here's an update of my re-design for the Tower enemy from Phantasy Star 4. Smoothing out the hatch opening animation, and added some steam/exhaust effect as it does.

@PIX3LP3T Top left is around my line quality for boards, but it's usually more simplified than this. Top right are my roughs for illustrations. From that point on, it's picking mediums/software/brushes that will get what I want. Rotate the canvas and utilize smoothing options if able.
In this week's report, I reflect on the first alpha test, and smoothing out stutters.

Practice
The right side is the rough. I ended up softening some edges but I need to be more confident on my edge control and limit on smoothing everything out
Progress Update! Merging and smoothing pass on the head and worked the hands into something that I don't totally hate. On to the feet. I guess I'm going to have to figure out how to pose this thing. Played around some but failed. I'l have to play some more.
After a month off I'm back to my figure studies. Not as rusty as i worried but still plenty of smoothing out to do. #croquiscafe #figuredrawing
Started a smoothing and blending pass on the body. Lol had to hide them ugly hands and feet for now.
#jamingtons game jam is almost over and my procedurally animated spider can walk on anything!
Needs some smoothing and the camera needs a full system upgrade but I'm pretty happy with it for the jam submission :)
2 more hours!
i made this just to transfer it to ac
i transferred by hand so i could fix any weirdness that the smoothing might've caused...
