Ursula from The Little Mermaid seriously went through a lot of redesigns. It wasn't until artists based on her on the drag queen Divine when she got her final look in the film. Here are some early drawings of her by Glen Keane, John Musker, Rob Minkoff, and Matthew O'Callaghan.

Studying art as usual. I like the new Ursula. I think she's underappreciated so I sketched and coloured her. Hope everyone likes my attempt. :)

Lady Gaga as Ursula is such a serve 🐙

I really hope gets her involved in the live action somehow because she would be incredible singing "Poor Unfortunate Souls"

Find a colourist you can trust. The only direction I gave was to keep the scene dark [at the bottom of the sea] but also subtly highlight Ursula. The ripples of light across the frame really help and Sebastian is prefect as the brooding prop behind.

I’m offended no one asked me to play Ariel in The Little Mermaid live action movie. I’m also free to play Ursula if they need a glamorous villain.

They had Triton be black on Broadway as well as mixed sisters and Ursula was white as his sister in the play. Whether all black or interracial family, representation does matter and casting should be color blind. Congrats to
