Gammamon's evolutions are all named after stars and said to be influenced by extragalactic space signals. His head thing also has 5 points like a star. Maybe Starmon would fit as another evolution in a vpet/game/DiM.

IDK if it's related, but SEGA giving Hotsuma a long, red flowing scarf in PS2 Shinobi seemed kind of influenced by Spawn. The whole design just kind of has that vibe, without actually copying the artstyle. The Japanese don't seem to look down on it.
