The albatross as a superstitious relic is referenced in Coleridge's 'The Rime of the Ancient Mariner'. It is considered unlucky to kill an albatross; in the poem the narrator kills the bird and his fellow sailors force him to wear the dead bird around his neck.

And the companion piece to go with it ! Galatea, Magda's jellyfish sweetheart. Just two girls in love, roaming the seas to eat sailors.

My contribution to mermay! A play on a siren luring sailors pretending to be a lighthouse! A little bit spooky this time!

Day For the Challenge - The Voyage

Dunno why my muse today was corgis but, I for some reason was inspired to make corgi sailors for my Voyage character. Sometimes my mind works in mysterious ways...

“Transversing the Cold Unknown”

I was inspired by a game I played before and I wanted to paint a story about sailors sailing across the Arctic waters to reach their destination but there is danger lurking by.

I really enjoyed this one and 8/24 to go.

Just having fun with my Oc , Oliver.

(The translation of the second drawing is : "loves the glasses but doesn't want to wear them" , "Doesn't want to remove his mask" and "Oliver as Dr. Jekyll",sorry I'm French😅)
