Another reason is I usually put the most effort(?) into expressions. with bodies and movements you can get away with cheating a lot of the time with simple shapes, forms, etc, whereas super small changes in the expression can make a world of difference
@MeridusaGG it's special because you make it. there's no right or wrong way to make art. most of my junk is just basic shapes, but I still enjoy making it. experiment with style if that's what you want to do, but don't feel like you have to

I'm always drawn to heavily western inspired/retro style anime. Bright colors, abstract shapes, tube limbs, exaggerated expressive faces and poses.. I love when styles can mix perfectly like that.
