Phantasia had prototype designs before their finalized version. Given how they correlated with the sprites in the Super Famicom (NOT SNES), the beta design was created first before recreating and finalizing the Phantasia cast of today.
I can't believe this amazing game is 25 years old now, still one of the greatest JRPGs from the SNES era imo
