Basically, what I want is to be able to say... really quickly map out what spaces in my lineart that I want to have a flat for, on it's own layer. Example:

I want to be able to sketch where Samus is, and get a flat layer for her, really quickly. Currently it's time consuming.

i missed it when it was floating around wrt that tweet about coloring lineart by hand or with the wand, but my trick is to select the stuff -outside- the lines, invert selection, fill with bucket tool to get a solid base, then clip layer coloring over that
