also ur of course welcome to try anything because that is the point, but his ear fluff and tail are feathers not fur, so i like to imagine them as separate colors from the fur to make that distinction

this is not the best or most realistic example, but I think working with geometric shapes, hard edges and soft edges gives you freedom to make a cloth that doesn't look very dense or weird. Basically exaggerated rendering can change the result a lot, and use reference!!! 🔫😚
