Kirito was in more pain than any Character I've seen. The only thing that relieved that pain was Asuna's love. When she died in Aincrad, he almost found no reason to even live on. To imagine that she used that to benefit herself makes me almost sick

I kind of find this interesting as an opinion. Him looking little more generic in relation to other anime protags complements how the world he really lives in, is set on our reality despite highly advanced VR technology sensibilities. Compare to how he was in Aincrad initially.
