They were mostly supporting cast. My favorite was Rock, the bad boy ikemen archetype 🥰 He debuted as Rock Holmes in a detective story but made appearances in other stories (Astroboy, Blackjack, etc) as different characters. Western fans know him as the villain in Metropolis.

I played the entirety of Clannad (5.5/10), which spent the majority of it's time simply showcasing the daily lives of it's characters, and really displaying their archetypes, their idiosyncrasies and quirks, all while saving it's more substantial content for it's climaxes.
