Submitting this piece for a contest and sooo hard to take a good picture of it. If I take it in a room without glare, the reds merge as one. If I take it outside, the camera exaggerates the glare from the light rendering the whole a grey. This is with a good camera too...sigh

I dunno if anyone else does this but I usually paint a pretty saturated layer as my first pass and then add an overall tinted grey. I would then start building contrast and add spotlights of saturation to finish the piece. This one is on its way to the final stage
