also not related to gradient maps at all but the background is literally on top of the line art. i find this method a lot more tedious but if you have messy line art like me and dont have to make a complex bg it really cleans up your piece in the end

I don't know if the method by which it was attained contributed to its deliciousness but let me tell you now: it was delicious
