And hey, just for the heck of it, how about a scattering of the stand-alone NPC pics?

Aight
I start with a coloured sketch, then add tons of shadows. Then I light it up and add texture. As for backgrounds, I just photobash lol
The final stuff is a multiply and dodge gradient, some blur, and a border. I forgot the subsurface scattering though XD
Hope that helps👍

‘We plough the seeds & scatter’, is one of the most performed hymns in the UK, written by German poet Claudius.
John Betjeman parodied it as "We spray the fields & scatter the poison on the land" in protest against modern farming methods.

It's 'Cusp' day as Helen Breach's experimental artist residency kicks off at West Acre Gallery.

Today is a process of exploration. Helen will be joined by Esther Boehm & Lydia Haines for a day of experimentation: to hang, scatter, mark & gather!

See them in action from 11-4.

Red loves is a nomad who likes to travel to explore new sites. It's a bit scatterbrained at times and but is wiser than you'd expect. Red often travels to Earth and thinks it is a beautiful planet but finds humans to be very flawed, thus is a bit of a misanthropist. (2/2)

Doing some planning for the Hokori game. This is a stage for it called Big Butte. It's the peak of a big mountain scattered with pretty mean and rude campers. I spent last night sketching out the stage, and this morning assembling a WIP of the environment

Greetings! I'm Kojiro, ancient island dragon. I was once a warrior, serving the best Kingdom in the world. Sadly, we were betrayed by their queen... The few survivors were scattered across the world and across time.

Through relaxing with games & friends, I've been able to heal..

color-picking from these palettes isnt really the best way to paint skin bc it looks dull, i'd suggest studying subsurface scattering and saturation in skin! lighting plays a big part of how skin looks, so you should always look at many real-life references!

When I'm stuck on a hard part of a commission, I take it to storyboarding to play around with different light schemes. I started playing BOTW to re-acquaint myself with light scattering. I'm a tad stuck on lighting and perspective issues in both commissions I'm working on now.
