Both fossil specimens of Prejanopterus show a snout curved to the left. If this is not distortion of the fossil, Prejanopterus is surely one of the weirdest https://t.co/OJgmPKFOga

Designing the dragon (a.k.a. an azhdarchid-pterosaur-that’d-one-day-evolve-into-quetzalcoatlus) for the dinosaur project thingy. I think I like it now?

Almost forgot here's some of azhdarchid pterosaurs wandering over a riverbank, seen from above. Their pacing matches that of the azhdarchid ichnofossil, Haenamichnus, one of the only pterosaur tracks with an ID beyond 'pterosaur indet'.

The exceptional fossil of Beipiaopterus contains preserved skin with blood vessels that may have been used for regulation of body heat. https://t.co/3aOLdA5HCj

I’m a very loud pterosaur who likes to make things. The more scales and/or feathers that are involved, the more I’m gonna scream with joy.

(And I most certainly bought both the plushies the moment I saw them. I have no self-control with snake plushies)

Quick layout on Spotfin lionfish: Pterois antennata. There might well be some typos in this!

The rest are done and both made in Autodesk SketchBook and Procreate.#Paleoart

For here's my take on the mid-sized azhdarchoid Thalassodromeus. There's some neat features on the skull of this animal which probably relate to facial tissues - I wrote about them at my blog not so long ago: https://t.co/IxWpLHJ1FL

For a quick poll: which of these pterosaur images would you rather see in Life through the Ages II: Nyctosaurus or Hatzegopteryx? Both are awesome species, and I only have one pterosaur slot.

For a rarely seen comparison between giant azhdarchid pterosaurs and a large male giraffe (yes, they can get this big!). Pterosaurs are Arambourgiania (left) and Hatzegopteryx - slender and robust takes on the giant azhdarchid bauplan. is the scale bar.
