🎶Tell me something I don’t know 🎶 No Me Diga was probably my favorite number from #InTheHeights Cuca, Dani and Carla = instant Seratonin.
...Dani plans to use her mutant power to distract Farouk with another apparition of Charles Xavier.
When her gift returns imagery of the Vietnam War, instead, Dani realizes that her attack has impacted Xi'an, free of the Shadow King's influence.
With victory too easily had...
...complain about Illyana's saturation in New Mutants' stories, her prominence as the solution to other characters' central villains (e.g. Dani & The Demon Bear) does undermine my investment in those characters.
Her fight against the Shadow King, at least, bears some thematic...

The back half of the issue focuses on Dani and Illyana, who have inarguably become the team's protagonists, as they escape the possessed-Xi'an's thrall.
Illyana's growing comfort with ruling the demons of Limbo...
Even compared to UXM, New Mutants has been an incredibly queer book thanks to CC's subversion of Shooter's mandates and indulgence of subtext.
To that point, two relationships have started to really cement themselves in the book–Rahne and Dani (here twice-noted as soul-mates)...
