I was writing fluff, but then it made a dangerous turn into angst about how Kel stopped blindly trusting Hero after the incident he tells Sunny about in the cemetery. Hero not being used to being the last to know w/Kel and it eats at him. (2/5?)

Maverick thinks he's foolish for letting go/ sees Kel as a rival in life
Kim Knows she cant fill the space he left behind but tries anyway because Aubrey needs it

they were really close friends so when he left her and made new friends there was just this Kel shaped hole in her life. It was very different from her reactions to Basil, Sunny, and Hero. She felt like he actively betrayed her, not that he was giving her space like everyone else
