Along with values - the whole range of tints and tones - contrast is very important. This is about how the values are arranged in the image - areas of high contrast (very dark + very light) draw the eye, areas of low contrast (similar values) are restful
@FallMaiden I value consistency in storytelling. Key difference. They established the White Fang, Adam, and Faunus racism as important to the world and plot? Then they need to write that accordingly. Same goes for the characterizations. Like Ironwood's, whom Twiins clearly values.

Last night's watercolour practice from videos. The videos are only in order of when I saw them on "recommended" so I have basic wet on wet exercises followed by "getting accurate values in an a la prima portrait" followed by basic glazing techniques.

For this one I've decided to try the greyscale to color kind of method. I wanna understand how to make things less muddy through it while doing less draw overs as I can. I'm not 100% happy with it but it shows I'm still very weak with values.

Saw a youtube video about about painting using values with a colour filter, then removing the filter afterwards to see the result, So I thought I'd give it a go! Pretty proud of how pretty this turned out!
This drawing is still a work in progress but i am learning soooo much while doing it. I also turned it to greyscale so i can focus on the values better! :)
