In 1996 Premier of India was trying to fight back against newer rivals on the local market. It began production of the 1.0-litre Fiat Uno to sell alongside its elderly Padmini saloon, which saw a modernised S1 model plus a new 137D with FNM diesel power. #carbrochure #Premier
Renault made a bold effort to persuade 'the modern American business man' to convert to its 845cc front-wheel-drive vans, starting in 1959. The new model was called the Estafette in France, but US versions were known as the Petit-Panel, or the taller Hi-Boy. #carbrochure #Renault
The Lada was imported by Satra Motors, which already sold Moskviches in the UK. The brochure highlighted the car's mechanical simplicity: the Lada's engine was not carried over from Fiat, being a new Soviet design. Sturdier suspension and a thicker steel body were other changes.
The Lada 1200 first burst onto the British motoring scene in 1974. The references in the initial brochure to the model 'needing no introduction' and 'look(ing)... strangely familiar' were big hints that it was a Soviet-built version of the well-known Fiat 124. #carbrochure #Lada
Sometimes cars can sound good in theory but fail to be understood by buyers. So it was with the Ohio-made Honda Accord Crosstour. A 'sporty' long-tail crossover, it stepped in for the traditional station wagon in 2010 but failed to win over many customers. #carbrochure #Honda

Way back in 1949, US marque Kaiser-Frazer came up with this very early type of hatchback, an innovation forced on it out of necessity. Unable to afford a wagon body for its Kaiser saloons, the standard body was adapted, creating the Vagabond and Traveler. #carbrochure #Kaiser

In North America, Renault had high hopes for the Fuego (pronounced Fway'go, the '82 brochure noted), thanks to its access to the AMC dealer network. The model gained Federal lights and bumpers, and could be ordered with nutmeg leather seat trim featuring a stylised Renault logo.

BMC thought it had pulled off the ultimate one-upmanship when launching the new Vanden Plas Princess R in 1964 as 'a car that makes history'. The R signified its Rolls-Royce 4-litre engine, which justified a big price hike over the former 3-litre model. #carbrochure #VandenPlas
The technical details of the rear-engined Prinz were spelled out in the brochure's obligatory cutaway drawing. The early Prinz was successful enough to spawn the more familiar second-generation model - with shrunken Chevrolet Corvair styling - which survived into the 1970s.
And here are yet more possible C15s. The brochure continued the Citroën tradition, originating with 2CV publicity, of not taking itself too seriously.
The brochure light-heartedly underlined the broad appeal of the Spanish-built C15 Familiale, one of only a small number of van-based estate cars at the time. The concept would become more mainstream later in the 1990s when Citroën launched its Berlingo (and Peugeot Partner twin).
The Citroën C15 was offered as a 'Familiale' estate car in some markets. This German brochure was produced for a competition to win a limited edition Spacelab model (shown on the cover), and also included imaginary images of other potential editions. #carbrochure #Citroen
Happy Sunday to you. Here's something from my own collection: H. H. Scott stereo brochure, 1961-64. Cover, with a couple of scans of the inside.
Surely the model was thinking of playing some Al Hirt tunes while the spouse is away.

This Austin range brochure reflects the early 70s BL plan to make the marque a high-tech front-wheel-drive one, with the arrival of the new Allegro as the symbol of this intent. The separate Morris dealer chain would theoretically have a rear-drive future. #carbrochure #Austin
Peugeot's first new model after WW2, the 1290cc 203 went into production in 1948 and is shown in this early brochure in both saloon and the rarer 4-door cabriolet version. The 203, with its US-influenced styling was the company's only car in the early 50s. #carbrochure #Peugeot
