Did you know … that during the 1999 Whitemud Road Landslide in Edmonton, bank material at the top dropped 18 m towards the river destroying 7 homes that had great views of the valley. Most of the displacement occurred in one day. Thx to the USGS. https://t.co/dVixcuievE

Edmontosaurus regalis meaning ”lizard from Edmonton” is a species of comb-crested hadrosaurid (duck-billed) dinosaur. The first Edmontosaurus regalis fossils were discovered in 1916 by George F. Sternberg, in the Horseshoe Canyon Formation along the Red Deer River

Did you know … that banks are failing in Edmonton, AB. The incised, meandering North Saskatchewan River valley constantly undercuts its banks, leading to bank failure. Slippage typically occurs on super slick 71 - 72 million year old volcanic ash layers. https://t.co/X52PtDg4Z3

Edmontosaurus was part of a group of dinosaurs called the Hadrosaurs. One species, E. regalis, sported a fleshy “crest”! We have many well-preserved specimens of this charming dino, even possibly preserving their patterning!

Hadrosaurs, eh? For Dinovember last year I drew an Edmontosaurus with speculative hooves, as well as my very favourite dino of all time, Parasaurolophus. 💚
